Medicare Advantage
Part C, also called Medicare Advantage, is another way to receive your Medicare Part A and Part B benefits through a private insurance company approved by Medicare. Most plans include Part D prescription drug coverage, and some may offer additional benefits.
Part D
Prescription Drug Coverage
Part D helps cover the cost of prescription drugs. Coverage is available through stand-alone Medicare drug plans and is also included in many Medicare Advantage plans.

YOUR COVERAGE OPTIONS
Medicare Advantage
An alternative way to receive your Medicare benefits through a private Medicare-approved plan. Plans may include prescription drug coverage and additional benefits.
Medicare Supplement
Medigap works with Original Medicare to help pay certain out-of-pocket costs such as deductibles, coinsurance and copayments. Medicare confirms Medigap is supplemental insurance used with Original Medicare to help cover certain out-of-pocket costs.
Prescription Drug Coverage
Part D helps cover prescription medications. We'll compare your prescriptions and preferred pharmacies when reviewing available plans.
Understanding Medicare Enrollment Periods
We'll review the enrollment period that applies to your situation, including:
Initial Enrollment Period When you're first eligible for Medicare. Generally, when you turn 65. It lasts for 7 months, starting 3 months before you turn 65, and ending 3 months after the month you turn 65.
General Enrollment Period January 1–March 31 for certain people who missed an earlier opportunity to enroll in Part A and/or Part B.
Medicare Open Enrollment October 15–December 7 for making certain Medicare Advantage and prescription drug coverage changes.
Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment January 1–March 31 for people already enrolled in Medicare Advantage.
Special Enrollment Periods Available in certain circumstances, such as losing qualifying coverage or moving.
